SPANISH IS EASY AND FUN
- The word GRACIAS has incredible power in our Mexican culture
because of its highly rooted spiritual meaning.
- Gracia is a gift from God and it creates the "state of grace" . When
someone says Gracias is not only acknowledging of a favor received,
but is sending you the grace of God.
Another way to say thank you is: "Que Dios se lo pague", which
again has a spiritual meaning: May God reward you.
"Que Dios lo bendiga" - God bless you - is also a way to acknowledge
a favour. People appreciate these expressions.
Here in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo there is another way to thank someone:
"Que le vaya bien", all the best to you. When locals here say this to
you, they are giving you a sign of acceptance. But do not forget to say
"gracias" first.
When you add the words "muchas gracias" or "muchísimas
gracias" people enjoy it and appreciate it.
- It is much easier to learn a language in the context of the culture.
