SPANISH IS EASY AND FUN
There is nothing so refreshing as a cold margarita, or a piña colada
or a cerveza. Specially in a hot day.
Be careful, though. If you come from a cold place and are not used to
the 30 degree Celsius temperature, your body needs to adjust.
Because it is hot here and you are thirsty (tienes sed) it is easy to
over drink and get very sick. The sickness is deshidratación.
Los síntomas de la deshidratación son nausea, vómito, dolor
estomacal, dolor de cabeza y fiebre.
Go easy with the bebidas alcohólicas. Instead, toma mucha agua
fresca. Even if you are not thirsty, bebe agua fria.
You can order your drinks using these sentences:
- Un vaso de agua fria por favor.
- Me da una botella de agua, por favor.
- Por favor una cerveza.
- Muchas gracias por la margarita.
- ¿Me puede regalar más hielo por favor? (Can you please give me
more ice?)
When traveling we recommend you not to drink tap water. When
ordering water at the restaurant ask for a botella de agua instead of
a vaso de agua. The equivalent of "cheers" in Spanish is Salud which
means "be heatlhy".
