PRE ADVANCED LEVEL: Students will be able to acquire a level in Spanish which will enable them to understand most written or spoken sentences and expressions, used in subjects such as geography, the weather, ethnic and demographic descriptions, history facts, descriptions of tourist spots, jobs, recreation, gastronomy, local festivities and traditions, environment, sports, recreational and cultural events, politics, news and tourist activities. They will also be able to give opinions and to write compositions on such matters. This will be accomplished in no more than two months. The students will learn about the culture and the language realizing how much they are related.In this level, the students will become familiar with the most commonly used verb tenses. ADVANCED LEVEL: In this level, the student will get a solid grasp of the language while learning about the culture of the Spanish speaking countries in the world. They will be able to express ideas and give opinions in daily life subjects. They will be able to talk about historical events, people’ s idiosyncrasies, architecture and art, they will also be able to describe events taking place in the world. They will be able to attend and understand conferences, listen to the radio and watch television understanding most of it. They will also read texts in Spanish, which are commonly read by high school students, with no difficulty and also express written ideas about the subjects discussed in the class using most verb tenses. In this level students will attend local events such as conferences, concerts, movie festivals, etc. and give reports on them.This level is divided in two parts. 80 hours each. CONVERSATION CLUB: This level focuses on bettering all four skills acquired in the previous levels as well as to become fluent in conversation. Students discuss about the topics which most interest them and also interview people who are expert on those topics. At the end of the course they will write a small thesis about Hispanic Culture.
